Millennium National School

Respect & love the soldiers

Mrs. Anuradha Prabhudesai was here at Millennium National School on Monday, 29th September at 9:30 am to share her inspiring experiences with our 9th and 10th Std students through her presentation on the Kargil Shauryagtha.

She served Union Bank of India for several years and has now opted for voluntary retirement to dedicate full time for the cause of Lakshya Foundation. This is an organization that spreads awareness about the Soldier’s Sacrifice. She formed Lakshya Foundation in October 2009 to streamline the activities and reach more people.

So what are all the things she did to spread the saga of sacrifice of our brave soldiers? She wrote articles in Marathi newspapers, gave more than 200 CD presentations and published a book-A Salute to our heroes-10 inspiring stories of Kargil war brave hearts.

A renowned actor and orator, she has worked in Televisions, films and serials. An ardent trekker, she has received many prestigious honours especially the one at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass.

She stated, that the success of the Kargil operation was largely due to outstanding personal bravery and exemplary leadership shown by our soldiers. Our Kargil war heroes displayed indomitable resolve, grit and determination, acting beyond the call of duty.

She had a magnetic and commanding personality and through her demo, video clips and storytelling style she infused the students with the spirit of patriotism. She was roused with passion for the Kargil war brave hearts. The students were clearly very excited and motivated and she had the blood surging through their veins. Her message was respect the soldier, love the soldier.

Our Kargil war heroes are still alive in our hearts. Soldiers may die but the armed forces lives on!
