“Salaam Teachers” on Teachers’ Day

Millennium National School Kindergarten celebrated Teachers’ Day on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in the KG section. The entire theme was conceptualized beautifully on thanksgiving to the teachers from their students in different art forms such as prayer, poetry, songs, stories, dance, movies and a skit.

Teachers’ Day was actually the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India, who was also a great teacher. The teachers showed photos of him and said that his students used to love him. He told his students that instead of celebrating his birthday on the 5th of September, they should celebrate Teacher’s Day on that day. Such was his reverence for all teachers.

This celebration of Teachers’ Day was great fun. It included a beautiful prayer, “Shakti de, buddhi de”, a beautiful dance, a shloka about teachers “Gurur Bramha, Gurur Vishnu”, a video story about teachers and lastly a skit for the teachers performed by the Sr Kg kids.

This grand celebration of thanks struck a chord deep within our hearts. When thanks comes from the heart, it never ceases to uplift our spirits. And what better way to express our thanks than towards our teachers who make us who we are in life.

They not only educate kids but help them become responsible citizens of the future. They encourage and inspire kids to move towards success. So here is our Salute to all the teachers!
