Technology
In the school, we value technology. We believe that imparting education using technology greatly strengthens the fundamentals of children. Technology is what sets us apart from all the other schools. This has only been possible because of a strong team with a solid technical background. Teaching using technology requires two things - technology aware staff, and a good technical infrastructure.
The technological infrastructure that the school has is very strong, and is on the lines of a medium sized IT firm. Our infrastructure is easily the most advanced and the maximum in number as compared to any other school in Pune (or maybe, anywhere else in India!). Here is a comprehensive overview of our infrastructure:
- Four computer labs equipped with 24 machines each. That's 96 clients.

- All clients are KUbuntu Linux based. We are of the firm opinion that all schools must run open source software, and are major proponents of this concept. Linux has a unique ability to run on any kind of hardware, and has powerful networking capabilities, which we make use of.
- A server for addressing these clients
- Again, based on CentOS, a RedHat based Linux distribution. The server is a client grade machine converted to a server with addition of disk space and RAM. That again, is the beauty of Linux. We have automated all the processes of upgrades and daily tasks, which makes management of the labs a breeze!
myEshala: This is the main differentiator for us. myEshala is a software teaching tool that we have developed in-house and which we use extensively in our labs, to enhance and fortify concepts of all subjects. It has quizzes, lectures and fun things that children in the school do, which academically strengthens them.
4 projectors for showing videos of recorded lectures and tutorials. Projectors are used to show videos of recorded lectures and other multimedia content of myEshala, which greatly enhances the understanding of any concept. Plans are to use the same technology to impart basic sports education too!- A myEclass infrastructure to monitor answers from *every* student attending a lecture
- We have specially developed a system in which a question is asked on the screen in the seminar room, and every student in the seminar room is asked to answer the question based on a keypad that each student is allotted. This helps in getting immediate feedback of whether the child is paying attention in class, and whether (s)he has understood the concept that is being taught. Feedback works both ways - it helps us identify weak areas of children, as well as points out deficiencies in our teaching system, helping us to improve.
- A detailed school ERP system to manage the non-academic processes

- Non academic processes are very well managed in the school. We are of the opinion that all tasks which need to be done repeatedly, can be automated to a large extent. That's why we have made PhatakSir, an application to manage all the routine tasks of the school, making it easy for both - parents as well as the school's admin team. Peons on each floor have a computer too. When a student misbehaves, it is reported to the floor peon. He enters the student and the offence on his computer. Three such offences and the parent gets an SMS. So, PhatakSir helps maintain discipline too!
