A teacher makes more than 3,000 non-trivial decisions every day. No list can capture the extraordinary subtlety involved in making instant decisions about which student to call on, how to frame an impromptu question, or how to respond to an interruption. We as teachers have to think fast on our feet and do the best we can with the information we have.
Watching a great teacher at the top of his or her form is like watching a great surgical or artistic performance. Although infinitely difficult and painstakingly planned, great teaching appears effortless and seamless.
Through the internship programme at Millennium National School the student teacher builds a repertoire of professional understandings and develops a future oriented attitude to schooling and teaching.
The past few years have witnessed a paradigm shift in the concept of school internship courses in India. The earlier stipulation of practice-teaching involved teaching of a pre-specified number of lessons in the subjects offered by a student-teacher as teaching or methods subjects. The NCTE Regulations, 2009 made an attempt to broaden the scope of practice-teaching by emphasising the importance of providing experience of all activities and programmes of the school to the student-teachers. The 2014 modification has further strengthened internship through the component of ‘Field Engagement’.

Interns at Millennium will be mentored by enthusiastic and experienced intern supervisors who believe in your potential, encourage you to learn, and give you hands-on experience that will help you succeed. We have built a programme around NCTE recommendations for interns for an enriching internship experience. The programme includes various experiences right from classroom observations to Mock Job interviews. Additionally letter of recommendation and leads for job opportunities will also be provided.
