The boysÂ’ basketball team has won many accolades and is a role model for the junior classes. The team has been playing together for the last four years and the camaraderie they share is evident.Â
Their love for the game started when it was introduced as a sport activity in the school, in 5th standard. The team started competing inter school two years back and has had some memorable matches. The students fondly remember the match where they were trailing but went on to beat Choksey School in the quarter finals.
Team members say that basketball has not only got them together but also has taught them skills of team bonding, sportsmanship and time management.  Â

“Basketball has become a part of our life,” they say. “We have formed an awesome team, who gels and fits in together,” the team members say in unison.
Our sports head and basketball coach, Ramdas Sir, is all praises for the efforts. “These boys are punctual, never complain of tiredness and are very hard working. All of them are here for the Saturday practices, which go up to four hours.”            Â
The appreciation is reciprocated by the students, who give their coach, Ramdas Sir credit for their achievements. “He is a strict disciplinarian and takes the practice very seriously. His commitment and dedication to the sport is contagious” they say.
Ramdas Sir says, “The facilities we have in the school are really great. We have separate areas for each sport and so it is possible to train the students well. And the management is very pro-sports, so it becomes easy to set hard practice sessions.” “These boys are punctual, never complain and are very hard working. They are always here for the four hour Saturday practices!”
We know that our founder, Dr. Phatak was a die-hard believer in the education that happens on the sports field. And that is why sports in our school gets more time than any core academic subject!
