To us, a lemon might be a simple piece of fruit, but to our little ones, it represents a whole new world to explore and experience. Kids are sensory beings, and they love to touch, taste, see and smell, so lemons are a perfect fit. We here at Millennium love encouraging kids to be passionate and creative. Since it’s a hot month, it’s the perfect time of the year to make lemonade! The light, fresh scent of lemons is perfect on a summer day. Their bright, yellow color is uplifting too.
A lemonade making activity was held in the KG kitchen on Friday 28th August, 2015. The kids took a steel vessel and poured some drinking water in it from a jug. Then they added sugar and a pinch of salt for taste. After that, the teacher took a lemon, washed it and then cut it into half. The kids put the half cut lemon in the lemon crusher and squeezed the lemon juice into the water. Then they took a big spoon and mixed it. Later, the teacher poured the lemonade in the glasses and the kids enjoyed drinking it. Students had a great time and through this activity they learned to make the fresh lemon drink independently which enhanced the level of confidence in them.
