Plans for summer – reading, craft, drawing!

So what are your plans for the summer? Hit the swimming pool? Seek out a new destination?

How about simply lying in the hammock with a good story to read? If you want to catch some fine stories without having to go out to a bookstore or a library, check out www.wegivebooks.org. They have hundreds of story books, scanned and reproduced as excellent, high-quality images that will blow you away. Check out timeless classics like the Ugly Duckling or Corduroy or travel back to World War II with the Spy-Catcher Gang. Learn about the ‘dude quotient’ of Ancient Egyptians or browse through some insect Q&A.

Parents of kids in Std 3 or below, this is a great site to catch up on some beautiful picture books that are not always available easily in India. So get going and catch up on your reading this vacation!

One great site we’ve found for a collection of arts and crafts activities, is Pinterest. You can look for a lot of ‘pins’ that people have put up for interesting activities. Here are some examples.

Will update more on this post, as we keep finding new resources.
