The lil’ tots celebrate Janmashtami in school

The tiny tots celebrated Janmashtami, Lord Krishna’s birthday on 13th August in the KG premises. It began by teachers telling the kids the birth story of Krishna, his parents, his birth place, River Yamuna and his village name.

Next day, our teachers made three handi’s for nursery junior and senior kids and decorated them beautifully. Kids made pyramids with the help of teachers and kaka’s. Churmure, sakhar phutane were given as “Prasad” to the kids.

Before dahi handi was cracked, the kids were shown pictures of how Lord Krishna and his friends made pyramids to eat butter in the village. After breaking dahi handi, kids were dancing to the songs of Krishna. The little ones were enjoying the dancing and so were the teachers who were dancing with the kids.

The teachers concluded by telling a story of “kaliya mardan” to the kids. They used different teaching aids such as flash cards and drawing on the board to make the story interesting. The kids were given dahi kala for snacks for more enjoyment.

It was a complete and amazing day for the kids. Not only did they enjoy themselves thoroughly but they also learned about Lord Krishna and his life. They learned that there is simplicity even in Godliness and God in simplicity.
