The traffic police had a wonderful session with the students of standard 5 to 10. They discussed traffic rules in detail and told the students of how important it was to follow them. They drove home the point that rules are for the citizen’s safety and it is our duty and responsibility to follow them.
They explained the need for a driving license and told students not to be tempted to drive their parents’ cars or two wheelers when they were not eligible to. They told the students about how the simplest of accidents can turn out to be really bad – and not having a license makes it worse.
They also talked about the physical and emotional trauma of an accident and how it can damage a person’s record and standing as well. They also had a good question answer session with the students.
This session was very necessary for everybody, how we wish adults could have it too! It first of all made the students understand that traffic police are not against the people, they are for the people and also that rules are totally for our safety. If most of our countrymen should just get that civic sense, it would be a very different place, indeed!
